Im looking into switching to Retroarch MAME for a rather silly reason ^^ Im using the Launch Box frontend and a PS4 controller. And since InputMapper started to have issues, im launching LB over Steam to take advantage of Steams controller mapping. Issue being: Steam launching LaunchBox launching MAME results in a black screen for whatever reason. I finished my MAME 0.139 xml for my Nvidia Shield TV. This xml have all working games, included casino, quiz, mahjong, etc. All game that works its in the xml. I just cleaned bios and non working games, so in total are 7396 games (my MAMEUI shows 7416 working games, but i think that this 20 extra games are bios). Jump to Game Support - New games added or promoted from NOT_WORKING status. New games marked as GAME_NOT_WORKING. So, to cut down on relaunches, a Libretro Core is a much more comfortable solution at the moment. And so far, the MAME Core runs everything i usually play pretty well ^^. In my experience the problem with using the mame git core (without year) is that: if you maintain the core updated, you have to maintain the romset updated, which is time consuming, and most of the time you’ll not encounter differences, but some games will break if you don’t update the romset (killer instinct was last drop for me), so i stick with mame 2014, i added some extra files in the roms to have compatibility with 2016 core, but still not changed, i will if i encounter problems with a rom that are fixed in the newer one. But remember as the emulator progresses is getting more accurate but harder to run, meaning that if you are on the borderline for a rom, updating will eventually make the game unplayable in your machine. I cut my arcade section down to 52 games (I had over 280 before; finally played through them and only kept the ones I really liked), so now I barely have to update my romset for each MAME update. I didn’t have to update anything going from 0.190 to 0.192 for example. That update was worth it for Akai Katana too I think the reports that MAME is always getting slower are overblown. I’m sure some drivers get slightly slower over time, but it’s never been enough for me to notice a difference in the years I’ve been using MAME on desktop PCs. Even on my old laptop or Athlon X2 powered desktop, only SH3 or STV based games had issues running stuff on the latest MAME. And recently, which made them run much faster. I turned up a count of 449 for MAME 0.140. Here's the list you requested by rom name. Let me know if a different list is required. Looks like CHD's aren't being scanned. Make sure CHD's is checked in the You want to scan group in Scanner. Also make sure you have your CHD's path selected in Settings. Sorry Frequency. I think maybe you misunderstoood. I have a mame 'lite' set - I don't have any chds (due to the amount of space they take up). I was hoping the clrmamepro miss list contained only games that were chds etc. So i could verify that i didn't screw anything else (normal roms) up while updating my rom set from 0.139 to 0.140. Well the miss list will show whatever you have checked. But since you don't have any chd's then of course they'll be missing if they are included in the scan. As far as roms go then you should only have 19 missing sets while you're missing 61. So some stuff may need fixing. Yeah but while you may be able to run a few more ROMs they would be so slow as to be unplayable anyway (especially FBA, CPS1, CPS2 which are pretty demanding, as of now the sound is messed up pretty bad on those). It would be more useful if the time was spent debugging the current cores. As it stands you can’t save remapped controls so games like Missile command, Robotron etc are unplayable due to the buttons being scrambled. You can’t play vertical games rotated for bigger screen because the D-pad directions don’t match up. You can remap them as you play but can’t be saved. I don’t know about you but having to map the controls properly every time you play the game is unpractical. All hosts you intend to connect to vCenter Server 6.5 should also be running ESXi v5.5 or above. Software Considerations • VCSA 6.5 must be deployed to an ESXi host running v5.5 or above. If you load a ROM in MAME 2000 then load a different one it just plays the previous one. You need to exit RA then reload to play a different ROM. You can’t get to the MAME menu because it is mapped to a button the Vita doesn’t even have. There are so many usability issues right now that those need work sooner than a current MAME in my opinion. I tried to compile mame2009 for ps3 and vita, but it get errors while compiling. For ps3 this For vita this other Anyway I used an old version of vitasdk, so i’ll try to compile it again once i updated the toolchain on my end. I have only renamed makefile (there’re two makefiles) and i added a vita target to compile for vita platform. If you like it, i can do a pr your repo. PS: I can finally thank you to fix ngp core, the fix you did for WiiU worked very good for ps3 too, since WiiU and ps3 are both big endian machines, so i guess everything you fix for Wiiu target can be used/or easily ported to ps3 platform to benefit your work on more platforms. Hi, For Ps3, maybe you have to force PTR64=1 in the ps3 section of makefile (after BIGENDIAN=1). And you should also add -DOLEFIX (as i took this from ps3 OLE mame build) and maybe configure other flags like here. DaveC1964: Is there any way someone could make it so that MAME 2000 has the ability to bring up the in game MAME setting menu? It just seems there is no button to trigger it. Mame 0.139 Games ListMAME 2003 does do it but that core has many audio issues due to the needed extra CPU power. That sounds like a pretty easy fix isn’t it? It is a simple thing but causes huge trouble by not being able to remap controls. I just created an Issue for this on github: I would suggest using the Subscribe feature on that page to keep up to date with any developments. 0.139 MAMETesters Bugs Fixed ---------------------- - 03898: [Crash/Freeze] Atomiswave-based games in naomi.c: Game gets stuck in boot process. MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. MAME can emulate thousands of games that otherwise would have been lost in the ash-heaps of history. In order to take advantage of the performance and lower hardware requirements of an earlier MAME architecture, MAME 2003-Plus began with the MAME 2003 codebase which is itself derived from xmame 0.78. Upon that base, MAME 2003-Plus contributors have backported support for several hundred additional games as well as other functionality not originally present in MAME 0.78. Please see for information on how to configure specific features of this emulator.
